Trailer Showcase: Seized – Lynne Cantwell

Each week a member of The Indie Exchange will be sharing their trailer and the story behind it.  This week, it’s Lynne Cantwell with her trailer for Seized (Book One of the Pipe Woman Chronicles).

Lynne Cantwell says: “I studied video news production in college and have written TV news scripts.  I even taught introductory video production at the college level.  But all that was way back in the days of analog.  So I approached the creation of a video trailer for Seized with some trepidation.

Producing the video took longer than it should have because I didn’t know what I was doing.  (Note to self: don’t bother putting transitions into your PowerPoint slide show – the effects don’t get imported into Movie Maker.)  I also found Movie Maker too simplistic for what I wanted to do.  The titling function seems pretty rudimentary.  But my biggest gripe was with the timeline.  I wanted it to be much more detailed, including a graph of the audio track, so I could change slides exactly when I wanted them to change.  But it’s fine.  And now I’m kind of hooked!  In fact, I’m shopping for a real video production program for the trailer for my next book, Fissured.”
